Teaser Tuesday #3

Teaser Tuesday is a meme hosted by Should Be Reading.
It's been a while since I posted this and I just realized that today was a Tuesday so here it is :)

Anyone can play along just do the following

* Grab your current read

* Open to a random page

* Share a few “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

* BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

* Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.

My current read is 'Radiant Shadows' by Melissa Marr
"Can you have unsupervised contact without weakening them? Without killing them? Without exposing what you are? Without endangering yourself?" Irial's gentleness was vanishing. "Tell me that you have the self-control to do so." p92

Review: The Pledge

The Pledge
The Pledge by Kimberly Derting

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book! The story was different and amazing. I loved the main character. She comes across weak sometimes, but when it comes to her friends and family she will do anything!
The setting was fun and a bit confusing. I kept picturing a city in during the middle ages, but than the electrical stuff would get mixed in the story so I needed to adjust my perspective each time.
It fun to follow from different character POV ... It's nice to not always having to follow the main character.

Review: Still Waters

Still Waters
Still Waters by Emma Carlson Berne

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked this book. It was different than the stuff I usually read. It had the required amount of romance (but not the tell-him-I-love-him-after-5-minutes kind) that was laced with a lot of suspence. I guess the events in this book are the ultimate test for true love. I don't know how I would deal with those, but I think Hanna handled them very well. She's a great character and I'd liked to read more about her. Colin seems like a great boyfriend but further in the story it's clear that he's got a bit of bagage than you expected at the beginning of the book. Laurie is an amazing friend who's always there for Hanna and David seems like the cutest little brother. Hanna's mom is very trusting though, I don't think my parents would have bought that story without talking to my employer first.
All in all it was a great story and it leaves me wanting more.

Review: Angel

Angel
Angel by L.A. Weatherly

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a nice story. It's an original twist on the angel-aspect. There was action, betrayal, road-trips, love and choices to be made. Although I liked the story over-all, the love parts were a bit to soppy for me. It fits in the story so I didn't bother me that much but it got a bit long-winded in some places because of that.
I liked the points of view switching, although it wasn't always immediately clear for me who's point of view I was reading :)
I liked this book and I want to know how it's going to continue. Book 2 will definitely be on my TBR-list.

Review: Last Breath

Last Breath
Last Breath by Rachel Caine

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love love love this series! Rachel Caine is an amazing author and she hasn't disappointed me yet.
The twist she is putting to the series through this book is great! I like how you get all those different points of view. I really do't know how to explain what I thought about the book without putting in a million spoilers, but wow! I loved it and I can't wait to read what Rachel made of the twelfth book! I bet it's going to be just as amazing as the first eleven ^^

Review: Halo

Halo
Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked this book! It kept my attention from beginning to end.
Some parts seemed really familiar which made me wonder if I already read the book, but the following scene made it clear that I hadn't.
Bethany is a great character. She isn't some helpless girl, but she knows she can't handle the whole world on her own. Her brother and sister are typical angels, which I love. It's really becoming one of my favourite creatures to read about :)
Xavier is the perfect boyfriend with that little bit of jealousy which makes him not too perfect to believe.
Jake is the perfect villain. He's dark but has kind of romantic side which makes it easy to blend in with the unsuspecting town.
The story is a nice blend of romance, action and drama which results in a great and compelling read.
