Granted, she had thick black tights on underneath, but still -- brr! <span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">I love the Starcrossed series by Josephine Angelini and I got my hands on the second book in the series last week. I think the song I chose is a song that fits with everything that's going on in Helen's life at the moment (I'm on page 112) and I hope her life's going to get better really soon. I love her and I hate how messed up her life is right now. I feel like crying every time she comes in contact with someone she cares about :(. Still love it though! <span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">So I went to the bookstore this weekend and I got myself a copy of <i>Hunting Lila</i>, the first book in the series. I loved it! (There might be a review coming soon) I read the other day that there's was a sequel coming out real soon. I can't wait to get my hands on it. If it's anything like <i>Hunting Lila</i> it will be amazing</span></span></div>

I don't know if this is US and UK. Goodreads says the book is Published by <i>Simon & Schuster UK</i> so it's possible the US has a different release-date.</span></span></span><br style="background-color: white;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; line-height: 19px; text-align: left;"><br /><b>And now, a very important question. <div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">High school sophomore Daisy Jones is just trying to get by unnoticed. It doesn’t help that she’s the new girl at school, lives in a trailer park, and doesn’t even own a cell phone. But there’s a good reason for all that: Daisy has a secret, unpredictable power—one only her best friend, Danielle, knows about.</span><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;"> </span><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">Despite her “gift” (or is it a curse?), Daisy’s doing a good job of fitting in—and a cute senior named Kevin even seems interested in her! But when Daisy tries to help Vivi, a mysterious classmate in a crisis, she soon discovers that her new friend has a secret of her own. Now Daisy and her friends must deal with chilling dreams and messages from the beyond. Can Daisy channel the power she’s always tried to hide—before it’s too late?</span><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;"> </span><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">Extra features include:</span><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">• A short graphic novel illustrated by Alexis Seabrook, telling Vivi’s story</span><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">• Danielle’s journal, revealing her deepest thoughts</span>
</span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #888888; line-height: 18px;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br style="background-color: white;" /><b style="background-color: white;">What I have to say about it:</b></span></span></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">I liked the story, but for me it wasn't anything special. Don't get me wrong, it was a fun read but some of the parts in the book were kind of predictable. My favorite part was the ending, because I really didn't see that one coming. I liked the fact that Daisy is such a strong character. The way she carries the story made it very enjoyable. I wouldn't mind being friends with her. Vivi is kind of a weirdo and comes across as a very unstable person. Danielle is a character that for me can go both ways. She comes across strong but she has her weak moments. Daisy's mom isn't very present in the story, but I feel like she has a very important role in the story. In the beginning of the story I wasn't sure how I felt about Kevin, but the more I read the more I started to like him. He still has moment that I would like to hit him, but he's nice. Patrick is totally weird. He starts of as a strange character, it's difficult to know what to make of him. The further you get into the story you get, the stranger he gets. It's not until the end you know what to make of him.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">I like the setting of the story also. Even though it mostly played out in the High School, it never got boring. The only strange thing I wondered about is: how can it be so easy to ditch classes. </span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;"><br /></span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">The extra features were fun. The drawing throughout the book and in Vivi's story were great!</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">It was fun to read Danielle's side of the story too. I like getting a different point of view for the stories I read.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">The thing I enjoyed the most were the songs 'Kevin' wrote. It's fun to be able to read the lyrics and I liked the singer they used to portray him.</span></span></div>Zoëhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05902552539471426123noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4648184982927740485.post-39890180420572015712012-05-17T21:31:00.001+02:002012-05-17T21:31:51.740+02:00Book trailer Thursday #5<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #888888; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222;">Book trailer Thursday is a meme hosted by us where we put the trailer for a book in the spotlight.</span> </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #888888; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">This week we're spotlighting <i>If I Die </i>by Rachel Vincent. </span></span><br />

<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">Allie Emerson is hoping for a few quiet months to catch her breath after a summer that included the discovery she is not only a twin and of faery blood, but also destined to play a pivotal role in faery world. School has barely begun when Allie must kiss her hope of a normal year goodbye.</span><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">She can't escape her unfinished business with the fae, the Trimarks, or Junior Alvarez, who is making it clear he plans to win her back. Signs, portents and whispers are pushing Allie to "find the girl" before it's too late. Hoping her twin can help her solve the riddle of their destiny, Allie uncovers old secrets and begins a cross-country journey that puts her in more danger than ever before. If she succeeds, she may just find the answers that can save everyone she loves.</span>
</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px;"><br style="background-color: white;" /><b style="background-color: white;">What I have to say about it:</b></span></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">So the fourth book in the series revolves mostly around Allie's journey to find her twin. There are a lot of the same characters and some new ones. Again the book has a lot of twists and turns. It a kind of unexpected but expected turn of events and the ending, but I liked it. It has a nice cliffhanger to it and it makes me want to read the next book so much more. There are some unexpected allies and some pretty bad bad guys. I liked every character (even the bad guys) accept the twin, she just didn't do it for me. I'm glad with the ways things went. I felt like this book wasn't as focused on the whole boyfriend part of the story and that's fine by me, I needed a break from that. I'm not saying there wasn't any relationship parts at all, it just wasn't as important as it was in the other books.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">I think Marilee Brothers is an amazing author with an amazing amount of fantasy. The world she has created is amazing and still realistic. <span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><b style="background-color: white;">What it says on Goodreads:</b></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">Junior's back from Mexico with his movie-star entourage. Beck's using his half-demon charms to "heal" a new girl. Mom's still wacky and now she's dating Principal Hostetler. High school is still an obstacle course of drama queens, bullies and nutjobs. The Trimarks are still a menace, and the moonstone pendant has revealed even more mind-boggling powers. In other words, Allie Emerson's life as the Girl Voted Least Likely To Save The World From Evil has gone from Weird to Super-Charged Super-Weird, and it's about to get even weirder. You're a faery princess. So says the mysterious Ryker, whose handsome talents include turning himself into a hawk. By the way, he and Allie are destined to marry. In faery land--Boundless. If they can save it from forces even more deadly than Trimarks and high school. The third book in the Unbidden Magic series plunges readers into a rich other-world of danger, humor, romance, fable, fairytale and magical destiny</span><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;"><i>.</i></span></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br style="background-color: white;" /><b style="background-color: white;">What I have to say about it:</b></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">I really liked this book. Every time I start reading Marilee's books I am completely sucked into the world she's created. She's able to create a new twist in every book in the series and I always wonder what's going to happen next. This book introduces a lot of new characters, including Ryker the mysterious and handsome guy that starts working for her uncle. Allie keeps on learning who she is and where her family came from. There are Trimarks, High School bullies, boys and faeries that make this book very interesting. Boundless sounds like an amazing but dangerous place and is filled with the most amazing creatures.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">The only thing that I didn't really love about this book is the love triangle/square that keeps on going. I love Allie and I love the guys but I sometimes I get a bit tired of the drama between them.</span></span></div>Zoëhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05902552539471426123noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4648184982927740485.post-47854347453964245312012-04-18T23:58:00.003+02:002012-04-18T23:58:48.062+02:00BusyHey guys,<br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">Music Monday is a weekly meme I'm trying to maintain.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">There are two ways you can do this:</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">1. Listen to a song and decide what book you would link this to.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">2. Read a book and find a song that fits a particular scene or larger parts of the book.</span><br />
<a href="http://www.blogger.com/blogger.g?blogID=4648184982927740485" name="more" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"></a><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">This week's song:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/7NJqUN9TClM?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">The book I thought about while listening to this song was <i>My Formerly Dead Boyfriend</i> by Stacy Ataree.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">I don't really know why because it doesn't really fit the story, unless you interpret this song as a message that could be send by your dead boyfriend.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">If you find a better book to fit the song, feel free to suggest it. If you have a better song for the book, again, feel free to share.</span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">And last but not least, if you have posted your own Music Monday, post the link below so we can check it out.</span><br />Zoëhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05902552539471426123noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4648184982927740485.post-55402765029470859502012-04-14T22:58:00.000+02:002012-04-16T22:58:15.568+02:00Review: Moon Rise by Marilee Brothers<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br /></span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;">Source: for review<br style="background-color: white;" /><span style="background-color: white;">Rating: 4 out of 5 stars</span></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><b style="background-color: white;">What it says on Goodreads:</b></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;"><i>Her mom's still dating losers. Her boyfriend's gone back to Mexico. Dad still hasn't told his wife and kids that she exists. At school, the drama queens and bullies still rule. But worst of all for Allie Emerson--aka the Star Seeker of an old Gypsy prophecy--is that her powers have taken a hike. She can't read minds anymore. She can't move stuff just by looking at it. The other Star Seekers are counting on her psychic gifts more than ever, and the evil Tri-marks are closing in, eager to snatch her magic moonstone necklace while she's helpless. The hot new guy at school is ready and willing to fight her battles, but he comes with some wicked baggage. Dear Diary: I'm a little worried. My new BF is a demon. Welcome again to Allie Emerson's funny, scary, amazing, and always unpredictable life, as the girl voted least likely to save the world from evil.</i></span>
</span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br style="background-color: white;" /><b style="background-color: white;">What I have to say about it:</b></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">I liked this book better than the first one. The story continues about six months after the events that took place at the end of <i>Moonstone</i>. This time around Allie has to handle the pressure of being introduced to Star Seekers during a honest-to-God Star Seeker convention, while not having any power at all, still having to protect the moonstone from the Tri-marks and a serial asspincher down at her local high school. Luckily there is Kizzy, who has a solution for the no-power situation. Enter gorgeous half-demon Beck and his equally gorgeous but pretty b*tchy sister Nicole.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">The story gives us new mysteries to solve and more pieces of the Allie-puzzle are revealed. The new characters that are introduced are good and helpful to Allie in her quest to find out what the moonstone can do and what happened with her family.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">There is action, there is love, there is drama, there is magic and there is mystery. Great ingredients for a book.</span></span></div>Zoëhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05902552539471426123noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4648184982927740485.post-67473058718967024702012-04-13T23:51:00.001+02:002012-04-13T23:51:41.185+02:00Film Friday #4<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px;">Film Friday is a meme hosted here at Zowee's Bookshelf.</span></span><br />

In the 1800s, a boy becomes a man when he ventures through the breech in pursuit of a fallen star, to prove his love for the village beauty. The star is no lump of rock, it's a maiden, Yvaine. Tristan, the youth, is not the only one looking for her: three witches, led by Lamia, want her heart to make them young; and, the sons of the dead king of Stormhold want her because she holds a ruby that will give one of them title to the throne. Assisting Tristan are his mother, the victim of a spell, and a transvestite pirate of the skies. <span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><i><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">Set on the island of Nantucket, STARCROSSED tells the tale of Helen Hamilton, a young woman whose destiny is forever altered when she meets Lucas Delos and tries to kill him in front of her entire high school. Which is terribly inconvenient, not only because Lucas is the most beautiful boy on the island, but also because Helen is so achingly shy she suffers physical pain whenever she is given too much attention. </span><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><br style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;" /><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;">Making matters worse, Helen is beginning to suspect she’s going crazy. Whenever she’s near Lucas or any member of his family she sees the ghostly apparitions of three women weeping bloody tears, and suffers the burden of an intense and irrational hate. She soon learns that she and Lucas are destined to play the leading roles in a Greek tragedy that the Three Fates insist on repeating over and over again throughout history. Like her namesake, Helen of Troy, she’s destined to start a war by falling in love. But even though Lucas and Helen can see their own star-crossed destiny, they’re still powerfully attracted to each other. Will they give up their personal happiness for the greater good, or risk it all to be together?</span></i>

<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="color: #181818; line-height: 19px;"><i>A sickly mom. A tiny house trailer. High school bullies and snarky drama queens. Bad-guy dudes with charming smiles. Allie has problems. And then there's that whole thing about fulfilling a magical prophecy and saving the world from evil. Geez. Welcome to the sad, funny, sometimes-scary world of fifteen-year-old Allie Emerson, who's struggling to keep her and her mom's act together in the small-town world of Peacock Flats, Washington. An electrical zap from a TV antenna sets off Allie's weird psychic powers. The next thing she knows she's being visited by a hippy-dippy guardian angel, and then her mysterious neighbor, the town "witch," gives her an incredible moonstone pendant that has powers only a good-hearted "Star Seeker" is meant to command. "Who, me?" is Allie's first reaction. But as sinister events begin to unfold, Allie realizes she's got a destiny to live up to. If she can just survive everyday life, in the meantime.</i></span>

<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;"><br style="background-color: white;" /><b style="background-color: white;">What I have to say about it:</b></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">I'm going to try to review this book without giving away any spoilers, but I can't promise that I won't giveaway a tiny bit.</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">This was a good book. The beginning was very funny and I really like the main character.</span></span></div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">Allie starts off as this kind of helpless girl when it comes to serious situations, but when she gets more in touch with her powers she can bring it. Her friends are weird, her boyfriend sounds so sexy, her mother isn't really a mother and her neighbor is kind of like a cool grandmother.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">She gets into some pretty weird and dangerous situations and then there are the more mundane situations she needs to handle on a daily basis.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">Not only does she need to learn to control her power, she soon finds out that having the power she has, means protecting it from the bad guys. Protecting the power means trying to stay alive while she tries to save the world. Not an easy feat for a fifteen-year-old girl.</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">The ending has some unsolved issues that have great potential to make a good second book.</span></span></div>Zoëhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05902552539471426123noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4648184982927740485.post-70164007959138369662012-04-06T20:36:00.000+02:002012-04-06T20:36:07.787+02:00Film Friday #3<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">Every Friday I will try to post one of these.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;">In these posts I'll put movies in the spotlight. <span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px;"><b style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">What it says on Goodreads:</span></b></span><br />
<i style="background-color: white; color: #181818; line-height: 19px; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Witchcraft Is Her Family’s Business.No One Quits The Family And Lives To Tell About It. “Jax” Pherson has power, enough power to know her future will end in service to the dark coven her father controls. Unless she can stay hidden in a small community in the mountains of North Carolina. She must find a way to live without magic and deny the darkness she feels welling up inside her—the same dark power that fuels the covens around the world. All she wants is a normal life. A boyfriend. Friends. Some place to belong, but all too soon Jax’s barely begun new life hangs in the balance when she discovers that the boy she’s attracted to is sworn to kill her kind. He’s a hunter with good reason to kill everything that goes bump in the night. Even the most fleeting use of her power is tantamount to signing her death warrant and will bring both hunter and coven down on her. But can she walk away when her friends are threatened by an old evil? Something created by the magic of witches? Jax’s only hope of survival is to convince the boy she loves to forget everything he’s ever been taught and help her find a way to fight the covens. To believe there is some good in her.</span></i><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; line-height: 18px;"><br style="background-color: white;" /><b style="background-color: white;">What I have to say about it:</b></span></span><br />
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">For me this story had a kind of Cinderella story feel to it. The Coven is the step-family, Jax is Cinderella, Keller is Prince Charming and Toni gets to play the best friend.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">For some people that's a bad thing, for me not so much. I'm totally into those stories.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">Jax is a great character. She's strong most of the time and is a smart girl. She tries to blend in by going to a normal High School.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">Keller is a supernatural Hunter. Jax is attracted to him the first moment she sees him and he feels kind of the same. Because she knows what he is, she tries to keep her distance but that's hard considering that she's becoming close friends with his cousin Toni.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">Toni is Jax' new best friend and a typical tomboy.She's a huge Joss Whedon fan and wears statement-shirts with quotes from his shows.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">The story is set in this small time that has something strange happen once in a while. There is a typical high school, a teenager hang-out, a 'nightclub' and woods with supernatural creatures inside it.</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">It is an easy and entertaining read and I really enjoyed it. There was action, there was romance and there was drama. Most of the things I want in a story. The ending left me wanting to read more and find out what happens to the gang. Will she solve the mystery or will she fail miserably?</span></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="line-height: 19px;">I can't wait to get my hands on Bane (The Coven Series #2).</span></span></div>Zoëhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05902552539471426123noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4648184982927740485.post-46864974238747599862012-04-02T23:17:00.000+02:002012-04-02T23:17:49.098+02:00Music Monday #3<br />
Music Monday is a weekly meme I'm trying to maintain.<br />
There are two ways you can do this:<br />
1. Listen to a song and decide what book you would link this to.<br />
2. Read a book and find a song that fits a particular scene or larger parts of the book.<br />
<a name='more'></a>This week's song:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/SC6QW9H1zUs?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
I thought about this song while I was reading White Witch by Trish Milburn.<br />
It's a great story and every time she gets in touch with the darkness within her, I think about the lyrics in this song. I feel like they fit together perfectly.<br />
If you have read the book, tell me if you feel the same about what I just wrote.<br />
If you have your own Music Monday, feel free to post the link below and share it with the rest of us :)Zoëhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05902552539471426123noreply@blogger.com0
